Galvan Rush Lt 5 Reel and Spool (Trade Up)

The Rugged Workhorse. Built-in-the-USA Durability with Flagship Performance.

The Galvan Rush Light 5 (R-5 LT) is a standout choice for the technical trout angler who values a “bombproof” build without the flagship price tag. This reel captures the essence of Galvans premier Torque series, utilizing the exact same state-of-the-art drag system but housed in a more traditional, rugged frame. While a new R-5 LT reel retails for approximately $350 and the spare spool for $170, this “Excellent Condition” bundle offers a high-performance two-spool system at a significant discount.

Why You Need This Setup

The R-5 LT (5-weight) is the sweet spot for the modern trout angler. It features a large arbor design for quick line retrieval and reduced line memory, combined with a thermoplastic disc drag that is famous for its silky-smooth startup and reliability. The Rush Light is known for its “tank-like” construction; its less aggressively ported than the Torque, making it more resistant to dings and scratches during heavy use in the backcountry. Having the extra spool allows you to switch instantly between a weight-forward floating line and a specialized sinking or nymphing line.
