Key Features and Specifications

Fishing Applications

The Nordic Bend is considered an excellent all-round hook for general shore and surf fishing, particularly on clean or mixed ground.

• Primary Application: Shore Fishing / Surf Casting
• Target Species: Highly effective for smaller to medium-sized species on the coast:
  • Flounder and other Flatfish
  • Whiting
  • Codling
  • Bass (in the larger sizes)
• Match Fishing: A long-time favorite among match anglers due to its fine wire and excellent presentation with delicate baits.
• Bait Use: Its fine wire and small eye make it ideal for natural, soft baits, ensuring they are not burst and are well-presented:
  • Worm Baits (Lugworm, Ragworm, Maddies)
  • Small chunks of Crab
  • Slim strips of Squid

Key Benefit for Catch and Release

The relatively fine wire allows the hook to sometimes be bent out of a snag, which can save terminal tackle. For small fish that are deeply hooked, the wire is often soft enough that a slight pull can straighten the hook for an easy release, which is excellent for returning smaller flatfish or other species alive
