Why the 6’6″ Medium-Heavy?

While many Medium-Heavy rods are 7 feet or longer, this 6’6″ version is the “Special Ops” tool of the Veritas lineup. The shorter length provides unmatched accuracy and leverage. It is the ideal choice for skipping jigs under low-hanging trees, target casting around boat docks, or fishing in tight quarters where a longer rod would be cumbersome.

The Moderate Fast action provides a slightly deeper bend in the blank, which is crucial for keeping fish pinned on treble hooks or when using lures that require a bit more “give” during the strike.

PRO TIP: This specific configurationMedium-Heavy with a Moderate Fast actionis a “secret weapon” for throwing larger topwater poppers or jerkbaits. The shorter length gives you better downward “jerking” clearance, while the Moderate Fast tip ensures you don’t rip the hooks out of a fish’s mouth during a violent topwater explosion.
