The Drennan Vertex Distance Feeder 13ft Rod is the flagship long-range tool in the updated Vertex feeder range. Built with a beautifully balanced, slim, and rigid high modulus carbon blank, this rod is engineered for anglers who need to cast heavy, fully loaded feeders to extreme ranges with consistent accuracy. While possessing incredible reserves of power in the middle and butt sections for casting up to 100g, it maintains a forgiving, mellow fish playing action in the tip to avoid last-minute hook pulls from hard-fighting carp. It features subtle, modern cosmetics and a tactile handle design.

Extreme Distance Casting: The long 13ft (3-piece) blank is specifically designed to maximize leverage and load up for increased distance casting. It has the power to accurately deliver fully loaded feeders up to 100g (3 1/2oz), putting you in touch with fish beyond the reach of standard feeder rods.
Shockleader Ready Guides: The rod is fitted with enlarged guides throughout. This critical feature improves casting performance by reducing friction and, crucially, allows shockleader knots to fly through with ease, ensuring safe and reliable long-range casting.
Controlled Fighting Action: Despite its raw casting power, the blank features a mellow fishing playing action. This progressive action engages when playing a fish, acting as a cushion to absorb headshakes and lunges, thereby avoiding hook pulls when tackling carp at distance.
Perfect for Mono or Braid: Optimized to perform with a variety of long-range lines. The recommended range is 6lb (0.20mm) to 10lb (0.28mm) mono, or high-performance 0.08mm to 0.12mm braid, offering flexibility for different conditions and target species.
Distance Feeder Tips Included: Supplied with two responsive and robust tips: a 2oz Carbon tip for moderate conditions and a 3oz Carbon tip for heavy loads, strong wind, or powerful tow.
This rod is purpose-built for scenarios where getting a heavy feeder a long way, or into strong flow, is essential.
| Usage Scenario | Target Species | Why the 13ft Distance Feeder is Perfect |
| Large Reservoirs/Lakes | Bream, Tench, Carp | When fish are sitting at 60m+ or when a large, heavy feeder is required to reach the target area or withstand a deep tow. |
| Big River Fishing | Barbel, Chub, Bream | The power is essential for holding large or heavily weighted feeders stationary in fast-flowing water, or for punching a lead out to the far side. |
| Heavy Method/Hybrid Feeder | Large Carp | The 100g casting weight is ideal for deploying fully loaded large Method or Hybrid feeders, maximizing the amount of feed delivered at long range. |
| Commercials (Extreme Range) | Large Carp, F1s | Excellent for highly pressured venues where fish often back off to extreme distances (70m+) to feed safely. |
