Fulling Mill Juglaret’s French Gammarus Orange

Fulling Mill Juglarets French Gammarus Orange Heavy Euro Nymph Shrimp Pattern

TheJuglarets French Gammarus Orange is a highly effective shrimp (gammarus) imitation designed specifically for fishing deep or fast-flowing rivers. Unlike lighter gammarus patterns, this fly is intentionally weighted, allowing it to reach the feeding zone quickly and stay there.

Best suited to modern European-style nymphing and New Zealand-style sight fishing, this pattern excels when trout are holding tight to the riverbed. The orange colour variant is particularly effective over darker substrates or when additional visual attraction is needed to trigger takes in coloured or turbulent water.

With its realistic profile and sink rate, Juglarets French Gammarus is a deadly option for targeting wild brown trout feeding on freshwater shrimp throughout Irish rivers.

Key Features

• Heavy gammarus (shrimp) imitation
• Designed for deep and fast water
• Excellent sink rate for tight-line nymphing
• Ideal for Euro nymphing and NZ-style sight fishing
• Orange colour for added visibility and attraction

Why It Works in Irish Rivers

Freshwater shrimp are a major food source in Irish rivers, particularly in faster runs and deeper glides. This weighted pattern gets down quickly and stays close to the riverbed where trout naturally feed, making it extremely effective when traditional nymphs struggle to reach depth.

Best Fishing Applications

• European-style tight-line nymphing
• New Zealand-style sight fishing
• Fast-flowing and deep river sections
• Wild Irish brown trout

Colour Selection Tip

Juglarets French Gammarus is available in multiple colours. For best results, always select the version that most closely matches the colour of the riverbed you are fishing.
