Fulling Mill Rob’s Booby Daddy Black

Fulling Mill Robs Booby Daddy Black Dark Silhouette Stillwater Fly

TheRobs Booby Daddy Black is a highly effective dark-pattern stillwater fly, offering a strong beetle-style silhouette that trout find hard to ignore. This version excels when terrestrials are being blown onto the water, making it particularly deadly during warm, breezy conditions.

The deep black profile creates maximum contrast against the surface film and subsurface light, helping trout locate the fly quickly and confidently. Its slim, buggy shape imitates drowned beetles and other land insects, while remaining subtle enough for pressured waters.

Fitted with buoyant booby eyes, the fly works perfectly as a point fly on a washing-line setup, holding droppers at the ideal depth. The gentle lift and movement created by the booby eyes adds just enough disturbance to trigger confident takes from cruising fish.
