Key Components and Function

1. Barrel Swivel: This is the rotating component made of brass.
   • Function: Its primary role is to spin to prevent your fishing line from twisting, which can be caused by the rotation of lures (like spoons or spinners) or by the fighting motion of a fish.
2. Scandic Snap: This is a type of sturdy, stainless steel clip attached to one end of the barrel swivel.
   • Function: It allows the angler to change lures, leaders, or rigs in a split second without having to re-tie a knot. The term Scandic in this context refers to the specific, often heavy-duty and reliable, style of the snap.
3. Material and Color:
   • The swivel body is typically made of Brass.
   • The snap is made of Stainless Steel.
   • They are often available in both a natural Brass (gold/bronze) color and a Black finish.

Benefits to the Angler

• Speed and Convenience: The snap makes lure changes extremely fast, maximizing your time with the line in the water.
• Twist Prevention: The barrel swivel ensures a good degree of rotation to prevent line twist, which is crucial for maintaining line strength and casting distance.
• Versatility: The combination is widely used in many types of fishing, including spinning, trolling, and even sea fishing, where quick rig changes are necessary.
