The Korda Spinner Swivel is a purpose-built component designed specifically for the construction of the devastatingly effective Spinner Rig (or Ronnie Rig). By eliminating the need for standard quick-change swivels that often require pliers to open and close, Korda has streamlined the rig-making process while enhancing the mechanical performance of the setup.
The defining feature of this swivel is the specialized wide clip. This opening is precisely gauged to allow a hook to be slid on or off effortlessly, yet it remains secure once the connection is sleeved. This design not only saves time but also maintains the structural integrity of the swivel, as there is no metal fatigue from constant bending of the wire.

The Ultimate Ronnie Rig: These swivels are the engine room of the Ronnie Rig, providing the low-friction 360-degree rotation required for the hook to grab instantly in the fishs mouth.
Instant Hook Swapping: If you notice a dull hook point after a catch or a drag through gravel, you can replace the hook in seconds without discarding the hooklink or the swivel.
Aggressive Hooking Angles: When paired with a Korda Kicker, the swivel is held at a rigid, aggressive angle that forces the hook point downward into the bottom lip of the carp.
Reduced Visibility: The dull, matte finish ensures that the hardware at the base of your hook remains inconspicuous, even when fishing in clear water or over bright lakebeds.
Secure the Connection. For the best results, always slide a Medium Korda Kicker or a length of Shrink Tube over the eye of the hook and down onto the swivel clip. This not only secures the hook in place but also creates a stiff section that acts as a lever, significantly increasing the speed at which the hook turns and takes hold.
Why use a Size 11 instead of a Size 8?
Size 11 swivels are smaller and lighter, providing a much neater profile for the business end of your rig. This smaller size is perfectly balanced for use with pop-ups and wafters, ensuring the rig isnt too heavy and sits naturally on the bottom.
Do I need to close the clip with pliers?
No. The wide clip is designed to be used as is. Once you slide the hook on and cover the connection with a Kicker or Shrink Tube, the hook is physically incapable of coming off the clip during a cast or a fight.
Which hook patterns work best?
The Korda Krank and Kurv Shank are the recommended patterns. Their swept shanks and specific eye angles complement the rotation of the Spinner Swivel perfectly, creating the most effective hooking geometry.
