Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the benefit of ceramic-free guides?

Traditional rod guides feature a ceramic inner ring that can easily crack, chip, or shatter if dropped on rocks or bashed against trees while walking through tight swims. Korums ceramic-free guides are pressed from a single piece of ultra-tough, polished lightweight steel. They are completely indestructible under normal fishing conditions, friction-free, and significantly reduce the overall tip weight of the blank.

Can this rod be used for float fishing as well as ledgering?

Yes, absolutely! That is the beauty of a traditional Avon action. While a 2.25lb test curve is stepped up for heavy work, the blank retains enough tip cushion to run large Avon floats, slider floats, or heavy chubber floats down river glides when targeting large species like chub, barbel, and carp.

What size reel matches best with this 12ft 2.25lb model?

To achieve the perfect physical balance, we highly recommend pairing this rod with a standard 4000 to 6000 sized baitrunner or a dedicated medium-sized specimen reel. This creates a well-balanced pivot point right at your hand, making casting and holding the rod comfortable for extended periods.
