The PENN Squadron IV Jigging Spin 66 (1.98m) 60lb 200-400g 1+1pc is a high-performance rod designed for the serious UK angler who targets large, powerful fish in medium to deep water. Offering exceptional value for money, this rod combines a modern blank design with a stunning look and the perfect balance of sensitivity and power to handle a wide range of jigging applications.

Specifications & Features

This rod is built on a powerful yet slim 24T carbon blank. Its 1+1pc configuration means the handle separates from the blank, allowing for a seamless, continuous blank action that delivers maximum power. The 66 length is perfectly suited for jigging from a boat, providing excellent leverage and control during intense fights.

• Line & Casting Weight: This rod is rated for a substantial 60lb line class and has a jigging weight of 200-400g. This makes it an ideal tool for dropping medium-to-heavy jigs and lures to the seabed, and it has the power to work them effectively in deep water and strong currents.
• Target Species: This rod is perfectly suited for a wide range of UK saltwater species. It is the ideal weapon for working jigs for deepwater cod, pollock, and ling from a boat, and it has the power to handle large specimens. Its also an excellent choice for targeting conger eels and other hard-fighting bottom dwellers. Its action and weight are also perfect for a variety of deep-water wreck and reef fishing applications.
• Gimbal: The rod features a gimbal with a protective cover. This is an essential feature for heavy jigging and stand-up fighting, allowing the rod to be locked into a fighting belt for maximum leverage and comfort during long battles with big fish.
• Guides: Equipped with super-strong, saltwater-resistant PENN Dura-Guides. These one-piece guides feature a tough stainless steel construction, ensuring they can handle the demanding conditions of saltwater use and are highly resistant to knocks and scrapes. They are suitable for use with all line types, including heavy braided lines.
• Handle: The ergonomically shaped, high-density EVA handles provide a comfortable and secure grip, even when wet. The material is also easy to clean, a significant advantage for a rod that will be handling fish slime and bait.
• Blank Action: The rod has a slightly softer tip, which helps to impart a lifelike action to your jigs, but the powerful bottom end has the sheer strength needed to lift big fish from the depths.

The PENN Squadron IV Jigging Spin is a reliable, durable, and high-performance rod that gives the UK angler the confidence to tackle a range of deepwater challenges.
