Preston Innovations Absolute 5G Shallow Tray Unit

Preston Innovations Absolute 5G Shallow Tray Unit | Streamlined Rig Storage

The Preston Innovations Absolute 5G Shallow Tray Unit is a precision-engineered modular component designed for the sleek organization of pole winders and essential terminal tackle. Utilizing the industry-leading Mag-Lok magnetic technology, this unit offers a secure, reliable connection that is fully compatible with the Absolute 5G, Absolute Station, and Inception ranges. The Shallow profile is the gold standard for rig management, allowing you to house a large number of pole rigs while keeping the overall height of your seatbox stack manageable.

At Gerrys Fishing, we consider the Shallow Tray to be the engine room of a match anglers seatbox. It is specifically designed to fit Preston Pole Winders perfectly, ensuring your rigs are stored flat, tension-free, and ready for immediate use when the all-in is called.

Key Features & Benefits

• Mag-Lok Magnetic Security: This unit features patented high-strength magnets that snap into place. Unlike traditional plastic clips that can become brittle in winter or jam with groundbait, Mag-Lok provides a lifetime of consistent performance and a rock-solid bond within your stack.

• Optimized Winder Depth: The trays depth is perfectly calibrated to hold Preston Pole Winders securely without them rattling. This flat storage method is the best way to prevent kinks in your mainline and keep your delicate float bristles protected.

• Top-Down Organization: Because it is a top-loading unit, you get a full visual inventory of your rigs the moment you lift the seat or the tray above. This allows for lightning-fast rig changes during a match.

• Modular Stackability: The shallow profile allows you to stack multiple tray units on top of each other. This is ideal for anglers who want to separate their rigs by venue type (e.g., one tray for Silverfish rigs and another for Carp/F1 rigs).

• Weatherproof Gasket: Every 5G tray is fitted with a high-quality rubber seal. This prevents water from seeping into your rig trays during a downpour, protecting your hooks from rust and your line from degradation.

Where to Use: Recommended Scenarios

• Pole Rig Management: The primary choice for storing 13cm, 18cm, and 26cm standard winders. It keeps your rigs organized by depth, float size, or line diameter.

• Terminal Tackle Scratch Tray: Ideal for storing small items like plummet, spare elastics, and Stotz dispensers that dont require the depth of a full drawer.

• Lightweight Transport: When used with a 5G Lid Unit, it creates a slim, portable rig case that is easy to carry to the bank for tackle-light sessions or pleasure fishing.

• Low-Profile Setup: Perfect for anglers who prefer a lower seating position but still want plenty of organized storage space.

The Gerrys Fishing Verdict

The Absolute 5G Shallow Tray Unit is a masterclass in efficiency. It does away with the bulk of deep storage and focuses on the high-density organization that modern match fishing requires. The Mag-Lok system makes adding or removing trays from your stack an effortless task, ensuring you are always organized and ready for the next cast.

Gerrys Pro Tip: To make your rig selection even faster, use color-coded winders within your tray. For example, use yellow winders for your deck rigs and red winders for your shallow rigs. Because this tray provides a clear top-down view, youll be able to grab the right rig instantly without even checking the float size
