Savage Gear Fury SG2 Halibut Rod

The Savage Gear Fury SG2 Halibut rod is a specialized, extreme-power tool engineered for the unforgiving demands of targeting massive halibut and other heavy deep-sea species. Its robust construction and unique 1+1 piece configuration deliver uncompromising strength and leverage.

Key Specifications:

Features for Extreme Deep-Sea Angling:

• Uncompromising Power: This rod is built for extreme lifting power and control needed to fight large halibut in strong currents or deep water, where jigging with heavy metal jigs or large natural baits is required. The 800g lure rating confirms its capability to handle the largest and heaviest presentations.
• 1+1 Piece Construction: This configuration provides the strength and seamless power transfer of a one-piece rod through the main blank, while the detachable butt section ensures more convenient transport than a true one-piece rod.
• Heavy-Duty Components: The rod features hardware necessary for battling large, powerful fish and managing heavy gear:
  • SeaGuide Guides: Designed for heavy braid use and resisting the rigors of deep-sea fishing.
  • Robust Reel Seat: Ensures secure seating of large conventional or spinning reels used for offshore work.
• Ergonomics: The handle is designed to provide secure grip and leverage during extended, arduous fights, allowing the angler to apply maximum pressure.

Ideal Applications:

• Targeting large Atlantic Halibut offshore.
• Deep-sea jigging and bait fishing with heavy weights (up to 800g).
• Any heavy offshore work requiring extreme lifting power and durability.
