Shimano Aero Pole Protector 7/8 Compatible Pro/X7/X5

Shimano Aero Reversible Pole Protector 7/8 Mid-Section Security

The Shimano Aero Reversible Pole Protector 7/8 is a critical accessory for maintaining the structural integrity of your high-end Aero pole. Specifically designed for the No. 7 and No. 8 sections, this protector ensures that the parts of the pole you handle most frequently remain free from damage. At Gerrys Fishing, we consider these essential for the Aero Pro, X7, and X5 models, as they provide a reinforced, ergonomic base when fishing at mid-to-long ranges.

Like its larger counterparts, this protector is built using high-modulus carbon to match the quality and feel of your flagship pole. It is reversible, meaning one single component serves two purposes, fitting snugly into the base of either the 7th or 8th section to prevent the carbon from fraying or cracking during high-pressure shipping and landing.

Key Specifications

Why Use the 7/8 Protector?

• Crucial Section Protection: The No. 7 and No. 8 sections are often the workhorse sections used when fishing at 11.5m or 13m. Because these are shipped back and forth constantly, they are prone to joint wear. This protector takes the brunt of that friction.

• Elbow Reinforcement: Many anglers elbow the pole at these sections when playing fish. The protector provides an internal reinforcement that prevents the carbon walls from ovalizing or cracking under that specific localized pressure.

• True Reversible Convenience: Whether you are fishing at a shorter 10m/11.5m line (using the No. 7) or stepping out to 13m (using the No. 8), this one accessory has you covered.

• Clean Shipping: The EVA end caps prevent dirt, grit, and water from entering the inside of your pole sections, keeping your internal joints clean and reducing the need for frequent maintenance.

Gerrys Pro Tip: Using a pole protector isnt just about safety; its about balance. Because these are designed by Shimano specifically for the Aero mandrel, they dont kill the action of the pole. They feel like a natural extension of the section, allowing you to ship with total confidence.
