Shimano Cardiff XR C2000S HG

Shimano Cardiff XR C2000S HG: Precision for the Trout Specialist

The Shimano Cardiff XR C2000S HG is a high-end masterpiece that makes a bold statement both visually and technically. Finished in a deep green pearlescent coat and accented with a classic round cork handle grip, it is designed to balance the lightest finesse rods on the market. Behind its elegant exterior lies a reel optimized for ultra-thin lines and fingertip control, making it the definitive choice for the angler who demands surgical precision in mountain streams or specialized trout ponds.

Finesse Engineering: The MGL Advantage

The Cardiff XR is built around the philosophy of low inertia, allowing for instantaneous response and unparalleled sensitivity:

• MGL Rotor: The ultra-lightweight Magnesium (MGL) rotor provides incredibly low start-up inertia. This allows you to start and stop your lure with micro-adjustments, giving you fingertip control over small spoons and spinners.

• Micro Module II & Silent Drive: These technologies eliminate mechanical noise and vibration. The result is a silky-smooth rotation that allows you to feel the most subtle ticks on your line or the slight change in water resistance around your lure.

• HAGANE Gear & X-SHIP: Despite its lightweight nature, the cold-forged HAGANE heart and X-SHIP support system ensure the reel remains rock-solid and efficient under the pressure of a hard-fighting native trout.

Calibration for Ultra-Thin Lines

Trout fishing often requires the use of the thinnest diameter braids and fluorocarbons, and the Cardiff XR is built specifically to protect them:

• Specialized Felt Washer Drag: Unlike standard drags, this system is specifically calibrated for light-line work. It provides an ultra-fine adjustment range and a smooth, consistent release of line that inspires confidence when playing large fish on fragile gear, especially during the frantic moments near the net.

• Long Stroke Spool: This feature improves casting distance and line lay, ensuring that even the lightest lures can be launched with accuracy to reach wary fish in clear water.

• C2000S HG Profile: The C denotes a compact body for weight savings, while the S indicates a shallow spoolperfect for thin lines without the need for backing.

Lightweight Balance and Protection

• CI4+ G-FREE Body: Constructed from Shimanos exclusive carbon-reinforced material, the body is exceptionally light. The G-FREE design shifts the reels center of gravity closer to the rod, creating a seamless, weightless feel in the hand.

• X-Protect: Provides high-level water resistance to the internal mechanisms without increasing rotational friction, protecting your investment from the splashes of mountain streams.
