Shimano Sustain FK

Shimano Sustain FK spinning reel

The Shimano Sustain FK is a true masterpiece of the Magnumlite Series, taking ultralight performance to a whole new level. It combines impressive sensitivity with feather-light handling and enough power to confidently master even the most demanding situations. Its elegant, slim design is a real eye-catcher and its performance is even better.

Lightweight, elegant and impressively powerful

The moment you touch it, you’ll notice how exceptionally light the Sustain FK is. Its satin-black body with chrome details looks elegant and modern, but its true strength lies within:

• The rotation is so smooth that it almost starts by itself.
• Every throw feels effortless.
• The feedback is extremely direct and sensitive.

The smaller models are perfect for medium setups where you need sensitivity and control. The larger 4000 and 5000 models deliver brutal power ideal for heavy freshwater fish or tough inshore saltwater fishing. Whether precision casting or heavy use: The Sustain FK is the ultimate lightweight reel for maximum dominance.

Magnumlite technology: ultra-lightweight, ultra-fast, ultra-precise

At the heart of the Sustain FK is the revolutionary Magnumlite (MGL) rotor, made from Shimano’s ultralight Ci4+ composite. This ensures:

• extremely fast start rotation
• crisp, lightning-fast hook sets
• Maximum sensitivity for absolute bait control

You feel every movement underwater instantly and clearly.

High-end technologies for uncompromising performance

Beneath the lightweight, robust aluminum body lies Shimano’s concentrated engineering expertise:

• HAGANE Gear maximum durability and power
• MicroModule II buttery smooth power transmission
• X-SHIP efficient, stable rotation under load
• InfinityXross & InfinityDrive additional power and smooth operation
• Silent Drive virtually noiseless operation
• Duracross Drag powerful, consistent and reliable during the fight
• X-Protect reliable saltwater protection

The Sustain FK is made for tough conditions and delivers top performance even there.

Long casts, perfect line control

For maximum casting distance, InfinityLoop Ultra Slow Oscillation and the AR-C spool work together:

• extremely clean line laying
• significantly longer and more precise throws
• optimal handling in wind and at a distance

When the lure hits the water, the anti-twist fin reliably reduces any loose line for smooth, direct lure control. The Sustain FK is your upgrade if you want a reel that combines style, lightness, high-end technology, and uncompromising strength. For maximum performance no matter what challenge you face on the water.
