The Ultimate Safe House for Specimen Carp

When youve just battled a personal best or a hard-fighting river carp, the last thing you want is a retention sling that feels flimsy or cramped. The Solar SP C-Tech Retention Sling XL is built for the angler who targets big fish and demands absolute safety.

Measuring a massive 130cm in length, this XL version is the big brother of the range, designed specifically to house large UK specimens and European giants with ease. It features ultra-buoyant full-length floats that keep the sling (and your prize) visible and upright on the surface, allowing the fish to recover fully before weighing and photography.

Safety is paramount here. The Houdini Clip secures the heavy-duty zips, ensuring there are no accidental escapes, while the super-soft fish-friendly inner coating protects the delicate slime coat of the fish. Combined with Solars Easy-Slide zippers and an extended zip run for easier release, this sling makes the whole process smoother for you and safer for the carp. Plus, it comes with a welded stink bag, so your car stays dry and odour-free on the way home.

Gerrys Pro Tip

Always double-check that the Houdini Clip is engaged before you walk away from the sling. It takes a second to do, but it guarantees that even the most energetic carp cant bump the zip open. Also, when releasing the fish, unzip the sling fully using the extended zip trackthis allows the fish to swim out freely without catching its fins on the exit
