Sonik Xtractor+ 5000 GS Reel: Premium Performance for the Compact Carper

At Gerrys Fishing, weve seen the short rod revolution take over, and the Sonik Xtractor+ 5000 GS is the reel built to master it. This isnt just a facelift; the + designation marks a massive internal upgrade. By introducing a Wormshaft Gear System, Sonik has ensured that line lay is now laser-perfect, resulting in longer, more accurate casts and significantly reduced bed-frazzle.

The GS edition brings a touch of class with its striking gold spool, perfectly offset against the sleek matte black body. Beyond the looks, its a workhorse. The Quik-Clik folding handle allows for lightning-fast setup and pack-downperfect for the mobile angler or those using compact rod sleeveswhile the Quick-Torque drag lets you go from free-spool to locked-down in a fraction of a turn.

Whether you are stalking the margins or punching a lead to the middle of a club water, the Xtractor+ 5000 GS offers the high-end feel of a big-pit reel in a frame that balances perfectly on 9ft and 10ft rods.

Where to Use the Xtractor+ 5000 GS

This reel is incredibly versatile, but it truly shines in these scenarios:

• Small to Medium Commercial Lakes: The perfect partner for 9ft or 10ft rods when fishing at distances up to 80 yards. The line lay ensures you hit the same spot every time.

• Stalking & Margin Hunting: Because it is lightweight and compact, its the ultimate tool for creeping through undergrowth. The Quick-Torque drag is vital here when a carp bolts for the snags.

• Surface / Floater Fishing: Its size makes it comfortable to hold for long periods while watching a controller float. The smooth drag prevents hook pulls on the bolt take.

• Urban Carp Fishing: If you fish canals or small city ponds where space is at a premium and you need to pack down fast, the Quik-Clik handle is a game changer.

Gerrys Pro Tip: Pair this with the Sonik Xtractor 10ft 3.25lb rods for a setup that looks like a custom build but performs like a professional tournament kit.
