See every movement, feel every strike. At Gerrys Fishing, we know that for finesse techniques like jigging and light lure fishing, visual control is just as important as sensitivity. The Sufix X8 in Neon Chartreuse is a premium, Japanese-style braided line designed to give you the ultimate edge in line-watching. Whether youre tracking a falling jig for Perch or navigating a lure through complex river currents for Trout, this high-visibility line ensures you never lose track of the action.
The Sufix X8 is built using R8 Precision Braiding technology, a high-tension weaving process that creates a silky-smooth, supple, and perfectly round profile. Constructed from 8 carriers of thin HMPE fibers, it offers an exceptional strength-to-diameter ratio while remaining remarkably thin. The smooth surface results in ultra-low friction, allowing the line to glide silently through your guides for incredible casting distance and accuracy.

The Drop-Strike Technique: When fishing soft plastics for Zander or Perch, many takes occur as the lure is sinking. Because the Neon Chartreuse is so bright, you can watch the line where it enters the water. If you see the line flick, jump, or suddenly go slack before it should hit the bottom, strike immediately! The high-vis color allows you to react to these visual bites long before youd ever feel them through the rod.
Vertical Jigging: The high-vis color is essential for maintaining a vertical line angle and spotting subtle takes in deep water.
Light Soft Plastics: Perfect for flicking small jigs in canals or rivers where the supple nature of the X8 allows for a natural lure presentation.
Murky or Stained Water: The Neon Chartreuse pops against dark water, making it much easier to guide your lure around snags, bridge pilings, and weed beds.
What is the benefit of a Japanese-style braid?
Japanese-style braids like Sufix X8 are generally much softer and more supple than traditional braids. This makes them much easier to manage, significantly reduces line memory, and allows for much better casting performance with light lures.
Is Sufix X8 suitable for baitcasters?
Yes. Because it is so round and consistent, it sits very well on baitcasting spools and is less likely to dig in under pressure compared to flatter 4-strand braids.
Does the Neon Chartreuse color fade?
Like all high-vis braids, some color loss is normal over time due to UV exposure and water minerals. However, Sufix X8 uses a high-quality dyeing process to ensure it remains visible for a significantly longer period than budget alternatives.
What knots are best for this line?
Since it is a very smooth line, we recommend using high-wrap knots. For braid-to-leader connections, an FG Knot or a Double Uni-Knot (with 810 wraps) is ideal. For direct lure attachment, a Palomar Knot is highly reliable
