The Ballad Fire

A few years ago, a fly tyer from Funen converted a very simple blue/black Norwegian salmon pattern for this sea trout fly. The following year it turned out to have almost magical powers. A few of the local Karup luminaries were so pleased with it that they came to They thought it was their pattern and, just to be safe, renamed the fly Blue Ivar. But this is the original!

An excellent night sea trout fly. But also a fine fly for early salmon.

The fly is about 8 cm long.
