The Westin W2 Powerstrike-T Travel 8 XH is the ultimate portable powerhouse, engineered for anglers who prefer a baitcasting setup when targeting large, hard-fighting predators like pike and zander with heavy lures. This rod combines exceptional strength with the convenience of a travel design.

The fast-actioned blank and practical four-section construction ensure ease of transport while maintaining the responsiveness and casting power required for heavy-duty lure fishing.

Features & Angler Benefits

• Extra Heavy Power (XH): The robust 60-140g casting weight means this rod is built to handle large jerkbaits, heavy soft plastics, swimbaits, and big spinnerbaits. The powerful backbone ensures a positive, deep hook-set necessary when dealing with big predator mouths.

• Specialized Baitcasting Setup: Designed with a VFC-2 reel seat and a trigger grip handle, this rod is specifically intended for use with a baitcasting (multiplier/low-profile) reel. This setup provides superior lure control, casting accuracy, and maximum torque during the fight.

• Fast Action & Sensitivity: Built on a 24/30 tonne High Performance Carbon blank, the rod features a fast action blank. This delivers excellent casting performance for heavy baits, while the sensitive tip communicates every movement of the lure and even the most delicate bite.

• Travel-Friendly Design: The 4-section construction ensures the rod breaks down into a small, convenient package, making it easy to transport and store, ideal for the traveling predator angler.

• Optimized Length (8): The 8 length provides an excellent balance of casting distance for covering water and leverage for fighting large fish, especially from a boat or kayak.

• Durable Components: Outfitted with robust Seaguide SXQLSG premium guides designed to handle thick, heavy braided lines. The Split-handle with premium grade EVA offers comfort and a secure grip in all weather conditions.

Ideal Fishing Applications for the 8 XH Powerstrike-T

The 8 length, XH power, and baitcasting (Trigger) handle make this rod highly specialized:

1. Heavy Lure Casting: Perfect for launching large jerkbaits and heavy swimbaits (up to 140g) when specifically targeting trophy pike.

2. Boat and Bank Fishing: Highly effective from a boat due to its length and control, but still long enough for good casting distance from the bank.

3. Traveling Predator Angler: The 4-piece design is the ultimate solution for anglers needing a powerful heavy-lure rod for travel.
